To prospective new members:
To become a Royal Arch Mason, you must be a Master Mason in good standing.
The Royal Arch is the first step you can take in York Rite Masonry and is very
much like the "Blue" Lodge in that it is participatory, that is, it is set up and run
very much like a regular lodge.
Royal Arch Masonry consists of 4 degrees which are described as follows:
Mark Master Mason: This degree instructs the candidate in how the Master
Masons of old signified their work. It describes further how they received their
wages.
Past Master Degree: This degree is patterned after the qualification ceremony
for Past Master's of the blue lodge.
Most Excellent Master: This degree instructs the candidate in some of the
knowledge that was given to Master Masons in antiquity.
Royal Arch Degree: This is a most sublime degree and deals with the second
building of the Temple and the recovery of the Word.
Degrees are put on throughout the year in various Chapters throughout the State
of New Jersey. In Corinthian Chapter, we put the degrees on during the months
of January through April. This makes it a little easier for candidates who wish to
continue their York Rite journey by joining the Council and Commandery.
